A Product Development Engineer designs, develops, and modifies biotechnology products and processes. They may also be involved in product validation, new product start-up, and technology transfer. A process development engineer is required to have a Bachelor of Science degree.
Manufacturing Technicians are involved in the manufacturing and production process of biotechnology products. They operate and maintain equipment, maintain records, and assist with testing to insure that process batches meet required specifications. Entry-level technicians are required to have an associate degree in a life science discipline.
An Instrument/Calibration Technician performs maintenance, repair, testing, and calibration of a wide variety of instruments, equipments, and components. An associate degree in electronics or similar field is required.
Facilities/Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for the installation and in-house repairs of facility equipment. Maintenance trades involved in this occupation include carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical. Entry-level requirements normally require a high school diploma.
